PhD Position in Spintronics Theory Saudi Arabia 2010 - The Division of Physical Science and Engineering at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) invites applications for PhD positions in theoretical condensed matter physics. These positions are full-time and will begin as soon as possible for a one year period, renewable. The successful candidate will pursue numerical and analytical research on the above mentioned topics. The applicant’s creativity will be highly appreciated and strong interactions with theoretical and experimental groups in the Division and abroad are expected. Outstanding academic and research backgrounds as well as good communication skills are required.
Requests for PhD applications: MSc degree in Physics or Materials Science. Solid background in Quantum Mechanics, semiclassical and quantum transport are required. Self-motivated, and capable of quickly developing new skills, the application will have a demonstrable aptitude for learning fast and involving him/herself in new theoretical techniques. Applicants should submit a letter of interest, a detailed curriculum vitae, a list of publications as well as three references.
